In Memory
Sachsenhausen was a german concentration camp 35km from Berlin operating between 1936 and April 1945.
There were roughly 30,000 wartime victims at Sachsenhausen, most of whom were Russian prisoners of war. Only 3000 remaining inmates were alive when the camp was liberated by allied forces. The camp is now open to the public and contains many restored buildings and museums.
